Point 1:

Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (NIT)

The most prestigious of its kind, this Buddhist institute is a treasure house of vast collection of rare Lepcha, Tibetan, and Sanskrit manuscript, Statues, and rare Thankas. It has over 200 Buddhist icons and other objects of art. Today, it is a renowned centre for study of Buddhist philosophy and religion.
Point 2:

Bakthang Waterfalls

20 minutes drive from Gangtok is Bakthang Waterfalls along the highway leading to North Sikkim. It originates from Ratey Chu, the main water source of Gangtok area. The cascading crystal clear water gives you a feeling of freshness and relaxation.

Hanuman Tok

It is 11 km away from Gangtok city just above Ganesh Tok. It has temple of Lord Hanuman where the devotees come in large numbers to offer prayer. Panoramic view of the mountain along the horizon is magnificent especially on clear sunny day.

Ganesh Tok

It is situated 07 kms from Gangtok town. From this place one can get a bird's eye view of the sprawling Gangtok town and across the hills Mount Kanchandzonga and Mount Siniolchu loom over the horizon.

Himalayan Zoological Park

Covering total area of 205 hectares the Himalayan Zoological Park is situated at 08 kms distance from Gangtok town, where one can spot Red Panda, Snow Leopards, Himalayan Black Bear and many species of birds and animals in this semi-natural habitats. This place is also known as Bulbuley.

Tashi View Point

Situated along the North Sikkim Highway, it is 08 kms away from Gangtok with an altitude of 6100 ft. From this view point one can gets panoramic view of Mt. Kanchandzonga and Mount Sinioulchu, one of the most graceful peaks in the world.

Banjhakri Falls

(Jhakri means the faith healer) Located en-route to Ranka and 04 kms from Gangtok, Ban Jhakri falls Energy Park is spread over 2 acre land. It is surrounded by trees and gushing mountain stream. Tha park has a Shamanistic theme. Place itself is decorated with ethnic sculptures and figurines of the Jhakri culture.

Gangtok Ropeway

One can enjoy the panoramic view of thrilling rise as the cable car goes over the hills and meadows. It takes riders seven minutes to travel 01 km.

Enchey Monastery

This is more than 200 years old Monastery. 03 kms away from Gangtok. This is important seats of the Nyingmapa order the Enchey Monastery is built on the site blessed by Monk Druptok karpo an extreme Trantic master known for his power of flying. Every year in January month 'Chaam' or religious dance id performed with great fanfare for two days.

Do Drul Chorten

Do Drul Chorten is one of the most important stupas in Sikkim, nestled in the stunning valleys of Gangtok. Built in 1945 under the supervision of late Truslshi and Rimpoche, the Stupa has around 108 Mani Lhakor or prayer wheels. These wheels are engraved with important mantras which can be chanted by rotating them. The quaint serenity and calmness of Do Drul Chorten has attracted tourists and devotees since years.
